Does anyone know exacly what is done to our cars when you bring them in for service? I know we have set schedule maintenance, but i hate bringing my car to the dealer, i never get a loaner, or have the time to sit there and wait. The dealership by me SUCKS @$$!
SOmeone fill me in.........
Yeah they rotate the tires, change the fluids then give you a happy ending...I would be surprised if they even opened the hood...oh and they check the belts! and also never fix any of the things you ask them to look at...This has been my experience at Ramsey Infinity...however, they always give me a loaner...

When I had the Maxima I took it to 5 towns (where I bought it) once, and to a dealership in Stamford once. After that I knew that if I wanted the car taken care of, I'd have to take it to a mechanic. It sucks because while it's free under warranty, they don't pay attention to shit. You could replace the intake with a dead monkey and they wouldn't even care... because they'd never open the hood.
It's strange though, because they make a killing on warranty work when they bill back Nissan, so I don't understand why they wouldn't put forth even the most minimal effort.
That's one thing that I've noticed German cars seem to have going for them though... a hell of a lot better warranty/service department at the dealerships. BMW is doing it now, and while my Benz was under warranty I wouldn't have a single issue after dropping the car off. They'd give you a checklist that you could manually verify and I never saw them cut any corners.
When you take the car in for service, they would change the oil and filter, replace the air filter on the intake, replace the in-cabin filter, rotate the tires, replace the wipers, lube the throttle linkage, inspect all the lamps (in-cabin and exterior), check the e-brake, steering play, etc.
The only things they would inspect (rather than fix outright) was the brake pad thickness, tires and axle ball joints. If they found something funky then they'd call you on the phone and give you the option to have them fix it, or you could come in and look at it and decide what to do.

i think this just depends on the dealer, and the mechanic. I hade an RSX, and the dealer was always really good to me. With many mods they still warrantied a lot of things. Infiniti has not been horible, i do think Ramsey is the best around my area. But hey, it is what it is......

They were good when I bought it but after they went under new management and it was like pulling teeth to get an answer to anything.
