I've been pm'ing gio back and fourth for the past few weeks about installing my springs. I was referred to him by a few members here so I thought "what the hell?"

Well, i finally get my springs in last night. I quickly sent Gio a pm asking him if he can do It today at 10am. A hour later I get a reply- "no problem"

So I roll in into at 10am. I thought it was going to be a 1-2hr job at MAX, boy was I wrong. It was about 95 degrees outside and humid as shit. Gio ended up working on my car for almost 7 hours (It was out of his control)

Anyhow. Gio was awesome. The car looked hot. He took his time and made sure everything was perfect, despite it being 1000 degrees outside and he was hung over. He was also very hospitable- I got to sit inside in the AC and watch Hancock while his ass was frying outside. And to top it off, I got a phone call later on tonight just to make sure everything was OK with the car.

Very professional, nice and knowledgeable. If anyone needs any work done to their G, I would definitely consider Gio first.

Tein Htech's

Working out in the bare sun no shade with a hangover and hand tools FTL.
I think I'm 5 shades darker and 20lbs lighter.

I forgot that I didn't have access to power tools which I was suppose
to bring over to my house the day before but didn't since I didn't think I was going to be doing any work today.

Thanks Modat and as I said sorry again for not being well prepared for
your car today.

Car came out great and If you need anything else in the future
don't be afraid to hit me up.

First of Big Thanks to And Props to You Glex

1. Saving me $1200: As some of you know i blew out some shit in my car messing-cleaning my corners (water damage) causing me to have no park tail or daytime running lights couldn't dim my dash lights . so i went to the dealer they told me my bcm & ipdm were shot and needed new ones costing upwards of $1100 including labor i was a lil distraught and upset spoke to metalp3n & glex they both said bs it has to be a fuse, welll yesterday i met up with glex for another install (will be discussed later) we popped my my hood pull a few clips needless to say 5 minutes later we discover a missing fuse wierd :noidea: so i pop in a spare 10amp fuse i had in the car 1 2 3 everything back to normal saving me 1200 i aint feel this good since i bought my car :high:. so if you ever have this problem check the 3rd fuse box or you can give glex $1200 :).

2. The install: so me shooting off my mouth after seeing a spring install i figured hey i can do it  i tell glex he can have my rear springs if he helps me to put my new ones on; me not realizing what a bitch the fronts would be volunteered to do them bad move, so basically i got a crash course on learning to watch what i say, lol
he helped me throughout the install walk me through stap by step bolt by bolt i gotta say this guy really knows his stuff literally tellin me what mistakes i was about to make (i.e make sure you dont drop that screw at the second the screw slips out my hand) lol
but yeah after doing this install i must say with his help i wouldnt hesitate to have him work on my car or ask him any questions regarding these G's so with that said
Props to you Ricky Bobby and can't wait to see that 300mph monster when its completed.
pics of the drop and bloody knuckles to come was gonna make a video of the entire process but jumped right into working on the car.

Next project: installing some spl endlinks i kindda messed up the lil rubber seal (noob mistake) maybe but whatevershit happens :)

Just wanted to give Gio a HUGE THANK YOU.

-First he put in my new door panels until 1-2AM in the freezing cold and saved me a lot of money.

-Secondly: he put in my plenum spacer and it came out great with absolutely NO problems even though he scared the shit out of me messing around :-p

I also had to change the rear interior panels which are a bitch during the day and even worst at night when you can't see.

Oh yeah Stina I think I forgot to put back the 8 bolts that hold the lower plenum back and the 4 bolts that hold the TB:doh::lol:

This is more then well over do, but here goes.

Gio installed me exhaust a few weeks ago. My stock exhaust was rusted in he couldn't get the screws out so he used a dremel to cut the bolts out. The he rethreaded the inside of the screws to pull those out. Finally, after many hours of cutting through metal he got the new exhaust on.

I could see all the metal shards in his skin and hair when he got up from taking my stock exhaust off. I spent close to five (5) hours there and I got nothing but the best.

I have gotten my springs, shocks, struts, and exhaust installed by Gio and I plan to get spacer, high flow cats, and maybe headers installed by him also.

He is very knowledgeable and is always there to answer random questions I have about which mods to get for my coupe.

I highly recommend contacting him for anything you need.

^ you forgot to add that he basically lives in his garage.. No matter what time you pass by his house he is working on somones car.. Gio maybe its time to set up a 3 car garage.. one for your car. one for basically another car worth of parts and the third with a lift for all the work you do.

First I'd like to say it was a pleasure working with Gio! I dropped my car off Saturday morning to get springs installed and said I'd pick it up later that day around 4-5 pm. Turns out I couldn't make it that night so I asked if I could leave my car there overnight, he didn't have a problem with it so I picked it up early the next day, no complaints great guy! Thanks again! :thumb:

i trust him more than any shop by far... treats your car as if its his.. would recommnd him for any install

There has been a lot of drama about Glex25 in the May Useless thread for a while and I wanted to take the time to clear some stuff up. That thread was not the appropriate place for those posts. Those posts became very heated and people acted immature with responses.

I wanted to take some time to share my experiences with Glex25 from the past year. Some of this might open your eyes up things you would never believe. After reading this, a lot of the drama in the May Useless thread will being to make sense.

Before I post anything of any significance, I ask that if anyone wishes to reply, they keep it mature and calm. No pointing fingers, no calling another member a liar, no excessive cursing, etc. Keep G35NYC a drama free, calm, and mature forum that helps its members. If anyone gets out of hand I'm confident the moderators will do their best to keep everything clean.

Lastly, before I post my personal experiance I want to hit upon the incident between China X Insanity and Glex25. I will not get into any specifics because it is not my place to talk about other members in depth; what I will say is what I saw wrong on the forums. Glex and China are both adults, if they have a problem they should be respectful enough to deal with it in private, or if they want to post their story so everyone can see, do it the proper way. Glex posted something about China in the May Useless thread out of the blue. It wasn't a very nice post and it said something to the extent of, "I hate it when people tell me they are mechanics and can't do shit so they end up spending 12 hours at my house on mothers day." Just to clear things up, there was no need for that post. That was clearly directed at China. China gave Glex a $400+ radar and offered to take Glex and his wife and kids out for dinner as compensation. It should have ended at that, or been a private convo.

Enough about them and onto my story.

I worked with Glex for the first time last year for a simple spring install. I was 17 years old last year and knew absolutely nothing about cars. My good friend knows a lot and has a vortech Z, when he got new suspension he gave me his old springs shocks and struts. I asked Glex to do the install for me. I get there and he does it very well, or atleast I thought. I his price was reasonable compared to shops around my area. I was happy. The install takes a little while and I get home and there is a rattling. So no biggy, I drive an hour back to his house the next day and he tells me "who ever took these springs off the previous car is an idiot and should've never touched this part of the springs/shocks." So that's fine. I trust Glex just didn't look at that part since he didn't think it was touched to begin with. A few months later I go back to get my exhaust put on. It took a very long time, but I'm totally cool with that. I know there was trouble with a bolt. My friend with the SC'd Z calls me and tells me he is getting rid of his Megan Racing headers. I can have them. I ask Glex how much for the install and he gave me a really good price, but he told me not to tell anyone since he is only giving me this price since I have given him some work. Fine. I don't tell anyone on here. A few days later I go to pick up my boy from his installers house down in Southern NJ. I ask the guy if he can do the header install for me since he is closer to my house. I told him how much Glex told me and he said he can not beat that.

Now, here is the irony. With all that said, the guy who took off the stock Z suspension and told me he can not beat Glex's price is the guy building Glex's engine! The dude's name is Matt. He also installed the Vortech in my friends Z.

Interesting. What I have seen in the past few months is that Glex did nothing but talk shit to me about the guy who uninstalled the Z suspension. He assured me that guy has no idea about cars and doesn't do quality work. Well, clearly he does do quality work if Glex is trusting him to build his own engine! So Glex spent a few months talking shit to me about this guy, and talking shit about me to Matt. I need to remind everyone that I am 18years old and Glex is more then double my age. Why is Glex going to talk shit to his friend about me, someone who is half his age? That would be like me talking to shit to my boy about a 9 year old.

Enough about that first experience with Glex. Onto the more recent things. Glex charges a lot for installs which I completely understand. He has a wife and kids to support and he does quality work. I am in HS and only work 15 hours a week for a minimum wage paying job. Needless to say, I have no money so I look for the best deals possible. I contacted Konrad about doing a new spring install, he quoted me less then Glex. I went to Konrad and he did more work in less time then Glex (he had to use a spring compressor to put the new springs on my shocks) and he was much more personable and friendly. He showed me how his build is going, he explained to me what he is doing with my car, and he was closer to my house. Needless to say I was more then happy with him and will go back to him in a heart beat.

I don't know the full story behind the previous convos between Glex and China x Insanity but from what I understand China asked Glex to set up a time to do this weeks before mothers day. Glex told China he is fine with them coming over to do the swap. Glex being a smart guy should have assumed they would need help. Glex helped them and it took all night. China then gave Glex a $400+ radar for compensation.

China has done what he can to make it up to Glex. If Glex has a problem the mature thing to do would have been to keep it private. There was no reason to put this on the forum for everyone to see. There is also no reason for this bad mouthing of forum members. Glex used to be staff/moderator here. He should know better then to make this a public argument.

Moral of this post is to say that people should not talk shit about other people. Especially someone of Glex's age and character. If any forum member has a problem with another member, keep it private.

If anyone has any questions for me about this story, please ask. I am more then happy to answer any questions, and any disbeliefs you may have.

I'd like to end this post by saying what upsets me the most is Glex is double my age. According to his user profile page he is 38. I am 18. There is absolutely no reason for a man, who is almost 40 and has a son who is nearly my age to be talking shit about me behind my back to his friends, my friends, and other forum members.

I wrote enough for this post. Once again, if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask here, PM me, IM me, etc.

I am here to help other forum members as much as possible.

Well I would like to make my rebuttal as far as the accusations towards me.

When I work on someone's car I like to do it right the first time around and was very upset that YOU had to drive back a hour to fix something that should not have been out of spec. When I get upset I shoot from the hip so sorry that you felt hurt from something that I have said.

As far as me and Matt we talked about that particular situation and dead it a long time ago so I don't know why you have to bring that up. Matt has helped me with my motor and I have not hide that from anyone as can be seen in this thread ( http://my350z.com/forum/forced-induction/465325-glex25-winter-build.html). I even recommended to you (Harrison) and to a few others here that since he was closer that you/they should get your work done by him instead of driving over a hour to me. I have also suggested things like this to guys in NYC to go to someone who is closer to them when they have contacted me for work.

As far as what went down with China I will post the conversation log that me and him had on aim tomorrow so people can understand what the agreement was and how it was totally different than what went down. Some of the Staff have seen this log so if they wish they can verify it when I post it tomorrow.

This is the scenario that I agreed to since you wanted to bring back up the China
incident. I had taken 2 days off work Thursday/Friday (Thursday to work on my car, Friday to do a coilover install) so I could take my family to Nissan/Infiniti Day on Saturday and spend Mother's Day with the wife. I had totally forgotten about the promise I had made to China about using my tools and backyard on May 9th but since I did make a promise I kept my word and told him it was all good since my involvement in the situation was minimal at most 20 minutes. I kept my end of the agreement and as the log shows (I only edited out personal information), it went far beyond the original agreement if I wanted to work on cars on Mothers Day I would not have re-scheduled 3 jobs for another time. I had asked in good faith for the Radar detector instead of him paying me out of pocket which would have cost him nothing since the seller said he MIGHT include if everything was cool. I think I went above and beyond what was asked of me.

ok first off, looks like Gio has straighten up with China X in their situation.
In regards to your situation (harrisonK) with gio, im sure that something wasn't right when he said "the last person who installed this" in this case, it was matt, did a bad job. which can be possible. Gio doesnt just criticize someone else's work unless it was out of spec. there can be a possibility that he, himself may have messed up, but aswell as matt also. at least he correctly fixed the problem.

Another thing people need to realize that, when going to gio for work, you are not going to a "Flat rate shop" to get it done swiftly. out of my experience and many others who had worked with gio, we all know that going to his house is more of a day at the "mechanic". It is a day of Chilling, Chatting, Hanging out, BSing about random shit, having a good time along with getting some work done in the meantime. so comparing Gio, who is going outta his way most of the time to help out a member and making them feel at home to a mechanic who can get you on your way is not a ideal comparison. i could have easily went to a very reputable high end shop 5 min from my house (TKX performance) to get things done, but i chose to go to gios at times instead because it is enjoyable, and even educational. im sure MANY has learned quite a bit from gio's experience with these cars or cars in general.

but with all that said, My personal experienced has never been less than extremely satisfied whenever i deal with gio. keep up the good work old pal, i will see you soon.

as ahmi stated i've been to gios many of times to get things done including a job that i was quoted at the dealer for $2000 that gio fixed over a six pack, as well as when i went to do my springs, and like pei said going to gio is more than just getting work then its an educational experience as well as quality work

I'm not one to get involved with drama or jump in and take sides but I'm going to share MY experience with Gio. During a recent sale/swap of parts a buyer enlisted the services of Gio. Being that i was not responsible for the install/uninstall I did not speak to Gio about the details of his involvement. This gentleman opened the doors of his home, made his entire tool box available for me to do the work, every time i needed that "old man strength" he was right behind me. This all took place on Mother's day, voluntarily or not he neglected his incredibly patient wife to help us get the job done. I'm no car guru but i can honestly say i know a thing or two. This man has infinite wisdom when it comes to cars. And if he does not know something, he figures it out on the spot. I'm deeply saddened by the events that took place and the aftermath of the incident, but what i am more upset about is that i will be leaving the Infiniti community to go on with my life and get married. One thing is certain, down the road when I can afford a toy or i can get my hands on another Infiniti, this gentleman will be the ONLY person i will trust to perform any sort of work on my vehicle. Gio, THANK YOU. You made me feel very comfortable while i was at your house and at no time did you make me feel like i was not welcome. Even with all the bullshit and drama that i refuse to comment on you never slammed the door in my face. Again, thank you and i hope i have the pleasure of letting you work on ONE of my vehicles very soon.
