View Full Version : So where is the snow? :)

They make a huge stink about all the snow... starting last night, mixed precipitation, messy commute... all that jazz.
It's 3:15 and I haven't seen a single flake... and this morning the sun was out when I got to work. It's cloudy and icky, but it's FAR from what they made it out to be.
Now they're saying 20-30% chance of rain/snow by tonight, but that's it. I guess whatever was going on missed us to the South by far.
Too bad it's gonna be like 15° though.
You listen to those weather niggas? They're so unreliable, I predict my own weather lol.

And by "society" they mean "white people" probably... :)
Because I'd like to see somebody trying to enforce that on some dudes playing cee-lo down the street from the Rucker. :)

That's exactly what they said was gonna happen. It's supposed to go below freezing soon, so even if it stops raining it's gonna be fun on the roads... :)
Go go g35x! :)
ill make it rain
No you wont...

Yeah... hopefully they've screwed up so much this year that this time they'll be wrong too... :)
But they're saying wintry crap tomorrow night into Wednesday, then snow/mixed all day Wednesday, so it could potentially suck a whole lot. My plan is to get home early tomorrow night, then work from home if it looks bad. No need to go test everybody else's driving skills in the snow... :)

Yeah, if we had had less traveled roads, we could test out our G's ATESSA, but too many idiots out there.

I think the whole Huge SUV/4x4/AWD fever actually has the wrong effect on some people... :)
It should be that you have AWD so that you can drive safely -- if you even HAVE to drive -- and let the car help you cope with the loss of traction. But instead what you have is a whole assload of people out there that think that because they have AWD that they can drive like they do when it's dry -- or worse. So you end up with a ton more accidents than you would otherwise... :)
I'm guilty of it too though... I know that when my tires are balding, I drive much slower than when they're new. And when I had the Maxima I contemplated going out in the snow, even if it wasn't an emergency, something I would never think about in my RWD Benz.
But with that said, I think it's VERY important to find out where the limits of the car are, and what it feels like to drive in ice/snow. That way you don't find out the hard way and don't know what to do when the car starts getting away from you on the way home in a snowstorm in the middle of the night...

Nothing big driving on icy crap for 40 miles today. Only saw one accident though, so probably tonight on the way home it will be worse... :)
At least we can't say we didn't get any snow this winter...

Ugh, the new G35 Sport w/summer tires will stay in the driveway until this all melts. Dammit, and I just broke 200 miles!
I'm already eyeballing cheap 17" wheels and Blizzaks for next season @ TireRack.
Does anyone know if the stock 17" rims on the G35x will fit over the Sport rotors and brakes? Those rims would probably cost $$$.

Nice,
200 miles?? that's it :). You need to drive it more :-D......
If you want to swap wheels you let me know. I am in Long Island. We have always meet somewhere and test it out...
Thanks.

The stock X rotors are 12.6", while the Sport comes with 13s. I don't know if the OEM 17s would clear the 13s, but they should.

Sorry INFI07G35x, no swapping wheels here :(. I was just wondering about fitment of the 17's for next winter for a 2nd set of rims in order to keep a "stock" look. The 18's look too good for me to give them up!
They sort of remind me of the old BMW E39 series M5 rims. My CEO had one and was always offering me a ride but I refused. I knew that if I sat in one I would have had to throw out my 401K to get one.
Now 7 years later I could probably get one of those for less that the cost of the G35 I just picked up. Oh well. :)
Appreciate the offer to help however!

So you're detailing the car then? :)
It's not that bad out here, and the G definitely held its own even in the crappy slush. AWD FTW! :)
