So I just logged onto G35driver..they're testing out this new integration as a plug in for online communities and it streams to Facebook.

I just signed up for it..and it basically gives you the option(once you connect your account)..to "publish" the story on facebook anytime you reply to a post, post a thread, upload photos..etc.

It's pretty cool IMO..don't think it's out yet to have it yet on our forum..but what do you guys think?

Hey everyone!

IB built a plug-in to allow Facebook integration. I asked that we include G35Driver as a 'test' community and it has been installed. It will also streamline the registration process as Facebook (and a couple other) login's will be accepted.

What will this do?

You can let your facebook friends know about G35driver, when you make new posts/threads/upload new photos etc. etc.

Notify you on facebook when your threads etc. get responded to.

All settings are customizable in your userCP

What will it not do?

We don't save/publish any information from Facebook, so your real name/email/details etc. will remain private, we don't save/publish that information!

Everything it communicates with Facebook is user selectable via your userCP

It is also easy to completely remove G35driver's association with Facebook if you don't like it:

Remove "g35driver"

This is what it looks like on my profile

It's good if you want people on facebook that don't have accounts to see what's going on, but it's pretty useless because you're gonna get 3 billion news items just like that one and you'll end up just filtering it out.

This really is useless, and would get annoying fast. You love social networking sites way too much.

Don't see the use in this. Especially if Vig were to actually update the G35NYC Twitter. :) Not happening though.

Isn't it still going to associate your real name on facebook with your username on the forum? I know it says they won't publish any personal info, but in your example "Mathew posted a reply in..blabla thread" and that just lets everyone know who's who
