So I have been in the markter for some 19" rims and found a few that I like. However, I really like the Seva S22's. I know they only come in 20's, which kind of sucks because I would want them in 19's. I know there are performance loss from 20" rims which I can understand. However, how much of a difference is it? I was trying to stick to the 19's for that reason, I dont want to lose any performance. Also, are the s22's good? Any problems with them bending, cracking, etc... I want a good quality rim that I will not have to worry about too much. THanks in advance

One inch is not gonna make that big of a difference... if you go with 20s it's not like you're gonna slow down 50mph or anything like that.

The construction and materials is what determine what performance hit you're gonna get from bigger wheels. If you get heavy wheels, that unsprung weight adds up and your performance -- acceleration, handling and brake distance -- all suffer. You could get 20" wheels that weight as much as -- if not less than -- some chrome 18s, and have better performance as a result.

You have to determine right off the bat what you want... if you're set on those for the looks then forget about a performance impact. You're going for looks so unsprung weight be damned. If you really cared about how much they slow down your car you wouldn't get them... or you'd be looking to compensate by saving weight on the brakes with 2-piece rotors or something. :)

I've seen 19" S-STAR Sevas that are 24 lbs. And I've seen 19" chrome wheels that weight 45 lbs. Do your research and see... and then figure out if it's worth it or not.

Yea, i know what you mean. Very informative! What would you suggest for a 19" rim (mainly looking for staggard 8.5/9.5), if not 8.5's all around. I want something that's not too heavy that won't effect my performance at all. I want something with a lip but can't decide between the mesh style or a spoke rim. EX: Mesh style: like the Axis Pentas or a Spoke rim like the sevas 5 star. Any suggestions??? Might as well get some A+ rims/tires right off the bat, it'll be better in the long run.

Don't look at me, I hate mesh and I don't care about weight :). I'm an open-wheel type of guy, which is why I went with mine.

But if you want something nice that's not crazy heavy you can do what everyone does and go with works or volk. Or even the lighter sevas.

It's entirely up to you how you want your car to look... between the gallery here and the gallery on g35driver I'm sure you'll find a look that you like for your car.

And check out the classifieds... there are like 10 people selling their wheels now, so maybe you'll find something there that you like too.

I have SEVAS S-22's and they don't come in 19's from any distributor that I know of, trust me I know. If Viguera can find one, please let me know. Probably you'd have to get time directly from SEVAS.

Anyway, there is a performance loss from getting the S-22's, I felt it as soon as I left the tire shop.

Really? damn lol. nevermind. Looks are big for me, but I am a big performance person so I would probably go with something lighter. Just got to find a good deal on something somewhere. Plus, winter is coming so I have time to save for the spring. If anyones got any opinions on any 19's that like that are light, let me know!!. Thanks for your help guysss!!

Volk Rays and Works are great rims, but I like the EXE Concourse better. I think imma go with those for my G (huge Lip). If you want a nice rim, have you thought of the Mayas or even the Axis Shine?? Very good, very strong, and reasonable weight. I'm all for getting the best of both worlds, even if it means sacrificing a little perforemance; only a little though!!

lol I always like the volks and works. I'll shop around and see what I can afford. Can't be too pricey! Maya's are too steep for me!

sevas s22 are pretty sick. 26 lbs in the front 30 lbs in the back. when i threw them on my car i was able to turn and a much higher speed and stick to the ground, but you have to worry about potholes (but i guess thats with every rim)i dont think i go any slower with them on. def look at DPE. they have sweeet rims.
